CoronaVirus Lockdown Day 44 - Wed 29 April

Today feels like one of those blah days that has come often during this confinement malarkey. A nothingness day where you can't really be that bothered doing much and then feeling guilty for doing nothing with all this time. We all woke up really late - for me 9am, and for William about 9.20am. We all finally headed downstairs for breakfast around 10am. Iain had a Zoom meeting at 10.30, and at about 11.30 we went out for our daily exercise. Today was a walk and we took in Place Grammont, the Gare, following the reverse route of the Grand Prix (cancelled, of course), up to the city and on to Bosquet, down Hédas, up past William's school and back up to the chateau, finishing with a wander along the Boulevard and through Place Royale. The sunshine was glorious and all in, we did 6k in an hour. A good stint after yesterday's big run.
The afternoon passed in a bit of a lethargic blur for me. After lunch, I played pop master then hung out some washing in the sunshine. Iain and William started playing with William's remote controlled car, discussing plans to build ramps etc., so I figured it was a good opportunity for me to busy myself with the questions for this week's quiz. The boys came back in for afternoon tea and settled down to watch a movie. I watched some of it with them but got my head back into question research. After the movie finished, they did a bit more playing then Iain was taking some work calls while I made the dinner. It gave William another chance to assume his favourite position: snuggled under a blanket on the couch, watching CBeebies.
Thai curry for dinner, and me and William went for a bath while Iain tidied up and took the bins out. Hilariously, there was some sort of "clap for carers" type thing happening in France tonight just when Iain left to go down to the bins. He said he was mortified, walking down to Hédas with the recycling while people were out on their balconies clapping [him] every step of the way.

William's just appeared on the stairs saying he's not tired so I'm going to go and tuck him in again. Hopefully he gets to sleep sooner that the 10.30pm effort we had on Monday.

Lorna. :-)
