CoronaVirus Lockdown Day 28 - Mon 13 April

Christ, two nights back to back that I've gone to bed at 2am. I'm slowly turning into Jinty. Great celebrations though last night for Gregor and Emma's baby, and everyone still amped this morning to hear more news and see more photos.

As you'd imagine, after two late nights and a decent amount of boozing, today was slow. It really didn't help that William came into our bed this morning at 7.45am and spent the next hour randomly touching my ears, nose, face, hair, breathing on me and sneezing on me every time I was just about sleeping. Raging!

A usual round of getting ready, and small chores then we called Jess and Arthur. It was actually brilliant - Jess and I gave our phones to our boys and let them just play and do chatting with each other. They took each other to their rooms; asked about what they'd been playing; showed each other their toys. Jess and I agreed that this is the way forward. So often, the FaceTimes that we all do involve adults talking but they actually need time to just chat and effectively play with their pals too. I suggested we even do a colouring in play date where they can FaceTime each other and just draw and chat, and show each other their work. I think this will be good.

The rest of the day has passed quickly even although we've not done too much. Iain went for a cobwebber run, William and I played Lego, we had lunch (a fry up, naturally), I made bread, I hung out washing, William and I played football in the courtyard, we played monsters/hiding snuggling in his bed, Iain made dinner (a curry, naturally!), William watched Gnomeo and Juliet, Iain had a work conference call and I pottered about online.

We rounded the day off by watching President Macron addressing the nation. I'm not entirely sure if its good or bad news, but we're still fighting the good fight and as such, the lockdown will remain in place, in France, until the 11th of May. AAAAAAAARGH.

Easter Monday. Done.

Lorna.
