Iain was straight into the new coffee regime this morning inspired by my purchase, yesterday, of a cafetière. He and William did their usual round of eating breakfast and watching a repair shop video. Unusally, William was keen to get into his day time clothes today as he was desperate for a plaster for the cut on his hand after yesterday's fall from his bike. Apparently plasters are part of day-time clothes. ;-)
It was then my turn to get into the new purchases, and I broke out the new paints for William. Clearly, painting is taking a pounding in many homes that have kids as there were hardly any things left in Auchan (and Leclerc was completely sold out last week). Anyway, I decided to buy three bottles of the primary colours and back myself to mix up the secondaries. Good job; William told me straight off the bat that he wanted green and purple. He's been all over it. So precise and meticulous, and he was at it for an hour. Brilliant. (This also let me play pop master in peace which I was pleased about - shame about my pathetic score today though!) After the painting session, we played with the big ball in the garden, then it was time for lunch. Despite my big trip to the supermarket yesterday, its was beans and toast today. Always a winner.
The afternoon was less active with overcast weather and indoor play. I spent some time playing around with my blogs and Iain made scones. Iain also made dinner - spaghetti with chilli garlic prawns and a rocket garnish. A firm favourite.
Before we knew it, we were logging into Zoom for the now regular Friday night ritual of a cocktail party with the Clelands. Changes for me though as my cocktail was a cup of tea. Deffo pulling back on the unnecessary boozing. Bottoms up!
To finish, here is William's painting from today. I gave him no direction whatsoever and this is what he created. I asked him to describe it afterwards. He said that it's Parc Beaumont with trees, and the river, and purple grass. And its where he will go for a picnic with Arthur after "conoravirus" is over. Awwwww. My heart was melting.
Lorna. :)
